Credit Card Debt – How to Discharge Credit Card Debt

I am sure you must have heard of discharge of credit card debt by bankruptcy. do not make the mistake of thinking this is the only way to discharge your credit card debt. What is the word discharge mean in this context? when used in connection with debts, it indicates that the lender has given you the permission to pay the debt in part or not pay it at all.

In case of bankruptcy, the permission is not given by the lender but is given by the court. the court permits you to skip repayment and utilizes your assets to repay the debts to the maximum extent possible. hence, it is pertinent to note that irrespective of whether the credit card debt has been discharged due to bankruptcy or settlement, some sort of the payment or the other has to go to the credit card company.

It may either go through your own pocket or it may go through the sale of your assets. In both cases, some payment is compulsory. the advantage of discharging your credit card debt by resorting to settlement is that you give the lender an opportunity to review the case and determine the right action.

In case of bankruptcy, it is a court that decides. the court will never take sides. It will arrive at a solution that is beneficial to both the parties. when millions of individuals are declaring bankruptcy, it is obvious that the court will be lenient towards the credit card holders.

This can be very irritating and frustrating for the credit card companies. when you go in for settlement deal, you are giving the power in the hands of the company. Of course, there is a fear that the company will misuse the power.

However, that rarely happens. the card companies know that if they do not offer you a generous discharge, you will go in for bankruptcy and that will put them in a troublesome situation.

If you do not know how to proceed, get in touch with a professional who has helped many individuals discharge their credit card debt. by initiating negotiations and offering a part lump sum payment and a part installment payment for the balance amount, the settlement expert can fetch you a generous discount.

Once you have this information in your hands, you can plan your finances accordingly and bring your credit card debt down to zero. the only negative point is that your credit report will indicate that you have discharged your debt instead of repaying it in full.

If the management said half of these things they ought to be fined to maximum extent allowed and the chain's management should be fined along with them. There is no excuse for saying things like this to anyone, no matter what their color, gender, religion, anything. I am horrified to hear that this still occurs anywhere in this country. I'd like to think that this goes on because people don't know any better but I know from experience that that is not the case. It goes on even though they know better.

IANAL but a civil suit may be an option. Then he'll be legally forced to pay the money back without a criminal record or jail time. Do not cancel the charges, since then he'll be committing fraud against the credit card company and they WILL press charges.

I agree — the next call after Expedia not only refused to honor the reservation they charged you for (either at that hotel or a comparable one for no additional charge) should have been to your credit card company to dispute the charge. When you’re clearly in the right, it’s the best way to put the ball in their court instead of chasing them around.

It still seems rather backwards from a credit card company pov. If they know that the information was stolen from Sony, why would they not spend the $1 to send me a new card and would rather wait and reimburse possibly hundreds of dollars?

BBB has no real authority. All they can do is list customer complaints.

Talk to your credit card company, though they might not really help you if it has been a long time since the transaction occurred.

Even worse is when you get charges from out of the state for purchases you never did! It happens to me with AE and charges made in Georgia of all places. The charges were from a landscaping supplies company. Who knows may be the fraudsters saw my name and thought, “yeah that sounds like a landscaper” Fortunately I contacted the credit card company and they remove the charges no questions asked. Sometimes it does work to complaint

If its not paid on the due date is it on time? No, it isn't so it is late.

BESIDES the fact the "grace period" refers to the amount of time you have before the credit card company starts charging interest on your purchase. (which btw there is no grace period if you are carrying a balance)

Get it? It is self-defeating not to use all the stored energy, and incoming energy, to order our systems to the maximum extent possible. CO2 is a tiny by-product (in the same way that the infitesimal increase in entropy is) in the scheme human well-being.

Oh, I can totally relate to the phone thing because I grew up with a hearing impairment. I took all of my jobs based on "not having to use the telephone"...and there aren't many of those out there! Even my cashier job involved the phone, which I didn't realize when I applied (calling departments for price checks, calling the credit card company for approvals...this was in the days of knucklebusters, in the late 70s/early 80s). Or they use those walkie-talkie things, which are 1000% worse than the phone...I can't understand them at all.
