I'm starting up a self-employed business. I have a sound business plan which has been reviewed by 4 persons in the field. my startup expenses are to be $2,500 and monthly expenses $4,000. The bank advised me to simply get a business credit card instead of a loan (they don't do business loans under $100k anyway.) but my credit score is terrible so they said I need a "strong" co-signer. but I don't know anyone who can do this for me! any ideas on where I can find someone or go?
Go downtown and find the guy in the corner drinking out of a little brown bag and ask him to co-sign...he he
Don't know about US, but in the UK credit cards are the most expensive way of borrowing money (cc = 24% / loans 7%). You don't state when you expect to be making money from the venture, is it after 3 months? 12 months?
Have a look at another bank? $100k seems like a fairly high level for loans?
Sell your idea to "Acquaintances," Friends, Family members, like selling shares of stock.

It can actually be significantly worse for the environment. You can't convert an existing farm to an organic farm overnight (the fertilizer remains in the soil), but you can raze a patch of forest and immediately make that into an organic farm--it's a sound business plan. I don't know how common this practice is, but I'm a little wary of buying organic goods.
I have to say that I am probably the best. My Gran is also very good, but doesn’t do much cooking anymore. I’m sure other family members could learn to be great, but who would when others always do the work? : )
A few months ago when Groupon took a big round, I was asked if I would like to sell some of my shares. I said yes. That sale is listed in the S-1. I still have more shares. I don't see any problem morally or ethically with selling shares that I was granted as part of my involvement with the board. I owned something, someone offered to buy it, and I sold it.
I don't know if this is a sound business plan, but I like grilled cheese.
unsecured business loans do exist. Also a business line of credit. Unfortunetly you would need at least 2 years operating as a business and good credit. Even if you go with the small business administration they require good credit. Your option right now is private investors.
I'm a 19 year old only child, I wouldn't say that's quiet true for me. I share with my friends. I'll admit that I have a hard time sharing with my family members though...sort of.
a stock-ish based prediction market. you place bets on certain event occurring by buying and selling shares. it is amazingly accurate.
Gangster family members tryn to rap -_-
