If my boss is late paying my business credit card bill does it affect my credit rating?

I work for a small business, which has issued me a credit card to use for business expenses. The card has my name on it and the business name. if my employer is late making payments on the card, will that show up on my credit report/rating?

if the card is in your name... DUH... yea it will be on your report.
best would be for your boss to pay you the expense and you pay the credit card.

It depends. The card may actually be in the business' name and your name appears on the card as one of the users.

To know for sure, you will need to confirm with you finance department. Or if you would rather, pull a free credit report and see if the issue bank of the car appears as revolving credit on your credit report. That would confirm if the card is indeed in your name. from what you have written if sounds like your name appears on the card as a user of the company card, but it is best to confirm.

Ring the card company and find out.
The business my hold the account and have you as an additional card holder. if thats the case then they are the ones it affects.
If its you, i would suggest that you pay your bill and have them pay you. better to occaisionally be a bit short if the boss pays late than end up with bad credit.

  1. I got a free credit report from equifax and didn't have to sign up for anything.

  2. companies have to pay taxes based on the amount of profit they make each year. So let's say you had 50,000 in profit. And you also have 10,000 in "business expenses". Your net (taxable) profit would then only be 40,000.

It's just like what people do each year...they report their income from their job but can also deduct certain expenses (mortgage expenses, medical expenses, donations, etc). These deductions reduce the amount of your "taxable income" and you then owe taxes on the amount after deductions.

Gregory is right, it is your name as it is printed on the credit card.

Depends on the card. Visa requires you to sign your name, if you put "Ask for ID" on it, it's technically an invalid card and a business is supposed to refuse it.

When in doubt, call your credit card company and ask.

  6. And Citi has re-issued Credit Cards with new account numbers to all customers impacted by this breach (like me). They also provided information on credit monitoring, setting a fraud alert, and how to get a free credit report.

I doubt it. Most local credit bureau offices have shut down once Experian, Equifax and TransUnion started offering their services directly to the public.
AnnualCreditReport.com is the only government approved website to receive your free credit reports. It's 100% free - no credit card or registration required. You're allowed one free report per bureau, once every 12 months. You can order them online, by phone or by mail.
If you want your credit score or additional copies, that will cost extra.
