A: No, the reserve requirement, if any, is calculated later based on total deposits for the prior statement period

Yippee they have a job, now what? Will they continue to make those minimum credit card payments?

I wonder if I should just pay it to 0 before the end of my statement period so a 0 gets reported every once in a while. This way they can see that it does get paid down and its not an old 2,000 balance hanging over my head every month.

The charges showing in your current balance were made after the closing date and will be inlcuded on the next statement period. You don't owe anything and won't be charged any interest until the next statement period. Your mother is right. Why would you doubt her?

When you do get the next statement, pay the full statement balance. That way you won't be charged any interest. There is a interest free grace period between the purchase date and the statemetn due date. Take advantage of using their money interest free.

it is also illegal to have a minimum credit card usage amount.. like they say you have to have $5 minimum purchase to use your credit card... they cant do that...well at least that's how it is in Michigan yet they still do at most small businesses

That's fine. Most of these places that have minimum credit card charges also have ATMs. One of my banks reimburses ATM fees.

Yeah, the only catch is that if it ever drops below $2500 at any time during the statement period, they won't give you the credit.

I had both a WaMu and a CHASE checking account. The WaMu was totally free and the CHASE one required 5 debit transactions per statement period to be free. The CHASE account was the first one that was changed to be charged fees. I closed it. Then I got the letter that my WaMu account was also being subjected to the fee. So I closed it too.

I have a MyAccess account, as well. I just looked at the requirements and mine is still >Monthly fee waived if you: >Make direct deposits each statement period OR Maintain an average balance of $1,500 >Otherwise, $8.95 per month Different requirements depending on which state your in, perhaps? I'm in VA.

I think the thing that is illegal is charging fees or more money for people who use credit cards as opposed to cash, not a minimum credit card spending amount.
